We are looking for a site to be designed that is of similar quality to:
Our site is an online, virtual world that is a browser based game. No downloads are required, however our version 2 graphics are not yet complete.
The site itself will require buttons for 6 different sections:
The website design must be separated into sections, similar to the above site. We will require:
1) A right side column width 300 pixels across
2) A section, below the logo and site buttons, where character information is shown (or, if the user is not logged in, the login box is shown). This should be at least 150 pixels in height and should cover both the main column and the right column.
The site will need to have 2 different styles developed.
1) The "homepage" style will have the right side column (http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/)
2) The "other page" style will not have the right side column.
Our plan at the moment is to only use the right side column design on the homepage and for all other pages to use the "other page" layout. Both layouts will require the login/character display area, below the logo and buttons.
Questions you may have --
What do we like above this design?:
We mostly like the layout and styling that has been done to how the page is laid out. Nothing is plain or boring, even the content area is crisp, colourful and well designed. We believe this is the downfall of our current design. We are trying to stick to light colours, and the way that this page is being displayed is almost perfect for the look that we are going for.
What is your game about?
The Virtual World that we are developing is based on an isometric system that allows users to create rooms, customise themselves, participate in quests, train pets, gather achievements, grow items and participate in multiple "battle" style games. All of this is based around a Tree, namely "The Great Tree".
Do you want the design to incorporate a tree style in anyway?
We potentially think this would be a good swing on things. The way that the site we have linked do it is based heavily on concept art of their characters, and then about the battle system of their game. As our virtual world is not about battling, we still want to keep that feel that the website design has been based heavily around the game and its concept so that the two are connected. We think it is a good idea to include the outdoors and the concept of our Tree into this.
Can you provide concept art/images?
Whilst we are able to provide you images/concept art of certain features/items that are part of the game, what we are still working on is the final character designs and these will not be finished intime for when we wish this website to be finished. As such, we want the website to be linked as much as possible, but actual character designs can be added ontop of the design, in banners or the such. They do not need to be the background image, for example.
Do you have a current website?
We do and, upon request, we can show you it. You should not look too deeply into the design, rather just the features that we are wanting to get onto it.
What is your budget?
Ideally we are looking around the $1000 mark.
Will you create a milestone and how will you release them?
Yes, we will create milestones. Given bad experiences in the past, the maximum that we are willing to put into the initial milestone is 25%. Once we have seen that the design is going in the way that we want and you are capable of doing and finishing the job, the additional 75% will be placed. No milestones will be released before the project is finished, under any conditions.
What is the deadline?
There will be a deadline of 4 weeks after project start for the website to be finished, fully coded and ready to go live.
Do you require samples/previous work?
The more high quality designs you have made, the better
