I would like to recreate this viral campaign by building a template that allows me to use the same functionality.
Can you take a look at these two expired links and tell me what you think it might take to build something like this?
Basically, the campaign worked as follows:
1) An user was sent Email #1, pointing them to Landing Page 1
2) Landing page 1 was here (note, it's an expired link but you'll get the idea): http://www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/assistant?awt_l=Jp55k&awt_m=3iY2PsYpvXMY4bn
3) Once opted in, the user would get Email #2, asking them to confirm their participation by clicking on a link to Landing Page 2, which was here: http://www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/contests/my/2a107caa872f06bae454d7a45c3d1c25
4) From there, you'll see the user was:
a) Given a digital ballot
b) Given the ability to share the contest through 5 different mediums: FB, Twitter, LinkedIN, Delicious, and an Affiliate Link
c) Each new person that signed up through the top of the funnel (steps 1 through 4 above) were sent to the same process, and the referring person would get an extra digital ballot.
So I'm basically trying to build something similar....specifically the ability to count user ballots whenever someone they referred the Landing Page 1 to, signed up to the contest themselves.
I want this to be as easy to update as possible for any new client I put it in front of.
