I am working on a site where I will be using Joomla 1.7 with JomSocial 2.4 and CiviCRM 4.1 alpha. I need a modification to CiviCRM to track expenses in a similar way that it currently tracks contributions/revenue. I'd also like a few specific reports that will track Profit/Loss and Cash on Hand amount and I would also like a budgeting feature. Ideally, if we can expand the functionality of CiviCRM to include some ERP functioning that would be ideal; but, if it is easier to create a component that satisfies simple online accounting practices, I would be willing to pay for that too.
Please send me detail of how you would start this project and/or any experience you have with this specific type of component. I am only looking for developers that have specific experience with creating or modifying CiviCRM or accounting components. I have posted a few jobs before and I always seem to get responses with a big listing of Joomla websites someone has worked on. This is not helpful. Website design is not what I need. Rather, what I need is component modification or creation.
