This opportunity is excellent for entrepreneurs; however, isn't necessarily easy and is a long-term, serious job, which is different from many Odesk positions which aren't as serious.
READ FIRST SO YOU DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME:
- No foreign (to America) Accents - Sorry about this one, but if you don't sound American/British, we can't use you. The only applicants that have been acceptable thus far have been SOME Filipinos/American applicants who speak extremely clear.
- You must be a self-motivated entrepreneur at heart.
- You must be patient and persistent.
- You will have to spend a couple of hours learning/training for this job prior to starting.
- The first 30 days will be a testing period, where you will meet with me for at least a few minutes each weekday.
The type of people we're looking for are entrepreneurs, those that are willing to give themselves to the future of the company and prosper along with its growth. We're not looking for odesk people out to make a quick buck and clock in a lot of hours. We want someone who will work with deliberate effort, which might often take extra time, especially in the beginning.
Why do we expect someone to do this? Simple, because as the company grows, we will reward all those who put in the extra effort to help it grow. As the job will be based on commission, the more quality effort you put in, the better you will do.
The Company:
We're a startup U.S. transportation company with an office in China as well. We deal with supplying cars and drivers.
The Position:
A telephone representative that will call quotes submitted via our website (and respond via email). You will be responsible for booking reservations and informing customers of our benefits. (This is the sales role)
Requirements of Candidates:
Flawless English - The candidate must absolutely have flawless English and telephone etiquette. American-sounding accents are a must.
Hours - The job position is a bit unusual in that it will work well around other jobs (assuming you can pause the other jobs at any point in time). The position is an on-call job, meaning anytime you get a quote during your designated on-call time, you will be required to stop what you're doing and contact the person asap.
To be clear, this job doesn't work as well as a job to do during your free hours - simply because there might be hours without quotes, so it would take an extremely patient person to sit around a computer and wait to see if a quote comes in.
Sales - Since you will have to call potential customers, ideally you will have some type of sales experience.
Pay - Commission-based, this will allow you to earn much more than you would hourly. We will pay via odesk.Our current close rate is roughly around 10%, so this is what you will be compared against when making calls. We want to reward you, because the better you do, the better the company does.
